Go Green Poster
I made this (shot and concept) for a Go Green Posters contest at Worth1000. I thought it would be an appropriate way to wrap up the Flora and Fauna September, which has been enjoyable for me - and I hope, also for you.
Stay tuned for the next project.
So I am back online (as you see), and although I am going through very personal hells of my very own, I decided that I’d rather drop dead than drop out of a challenge I dedicated myself to.
The bottom line of that being that I’m still in the 30 Days of Text, and catching up.
I wrote all five missed days, the last four of them in a row, and while I was doing so, I also decided what my personal challenge of this will be.
I know the rules of this whole game, as it is the first “30 Days of…” text challenge at Worth, are very free, which is perfect. But I decided to add a personal challenge for myself. I want to write 30 days of poetry, and use a different poetic form each day. As you can see in the previously linked Wiki article, there are enough poetic forms to fill a year, let alone a month. I am sure I find enough to suit me.
I really hope I can live up to that, given my current form and situation, but I promise I will try.
Tomorrow’s word: Comfort.
So the 30 days of text will begin tomorrow.
You will be able to find all links to all entries by all participants at the
Worth1000 August Blog a Day Project at Multiply.
I hope everyone has fun, and I am looking forward to read what all of you come up with.
So yes. Vacations. Which were brilliant. I might share pictures. Later.
Then life. Issues. Some of them nice. Most not. But now I am back, for now.
Also, I decided to enter a Worth challenge of
30 DAYS OF TEXT
There will be a different word or topic given each day, and I and the other participants will write about it.
What does that mean for you, oh well-disposed reader of my blog? It means that there will be an entry every day. At least I hope so.
Starting August 1st. Topic: Multifaceted.
Ain’t it weird? I like to make new photos old, and make old photos new.
By colorizing them. Colorization of old photographs is diligence work, tons of layers and trying. I love it. Almost meditative.
Here are two works of mine. I have to thank the Worthian danger_mouse for all I know about colorization, she taught me.

I did it again. Photo aging!
Remember I did it once already?
This time, I chose to go for a self portrait. It was the hardes thing I ever set up so far, and I owe tons of thanks to my great photo mentor Clive. He made me re-shoot it four times, so thanks for that, too.
(No, seriously, I learned a lot doing this).
So, here I am as a pinup girl.

I looked through some old photoshop projects of mine and thought I’d share.
I really liked the B2B (Back to basics) contests at Worth1000, the ones where the task was to photoshop a given image. Here are some I did.

I turned it into this:

I recently was inspired (by Worth1000, of course) to turn new photos into old ones. As I really had fun doing this (and as it earned me a silver trophy *g*), I will share the artwork with you here.
First, I turned this picture here:

into this “old” photo:

It was quite a challenge, because the kids are wearing modern clothes, of course, and that seemed to be a change in style that might not work out. The worst were the soles of the shoes - modern running shoes. So I decided to go for scratches over the most obvious part, and for the coffee stain to distract attention from it.
I had so much fun doing it that I wanted to try a new approach. So I chose this photo:

And turned it into this one:
I
The touching thing about it is that, if the photo was this old, the Cologne skyline in it would be scarred by war. The whole area around the cathedral was turned into ashes. Strangely and thankfully, the cathedral itself remained unscathed.
I personally think that this second picture is far better than the first one. But the ways of the voters are wondrous - the first picture brought me a silver trophy, the second came in fourth. I am happy with both scores, though, and I had loads of fun making them. I’ll surely make some more “old photos”.
I gotta thank Worth again for inspiring me to try something new.
I won a silver medal in the Worth 1000 “Macro Black and White 2007″. The entry can be found here.
This is the original color version:

Oh, thank you Norbert for holding the light source!
Worth is having a 30 days photo challenge again. For 30 days, the participants will post a self-portrait each day
Before you ask, no, I’m not in it. You mustn’t miss one day, or you’re out. And I’ll be gone some days, so I couldn’t.
But just in case you want to see some lovely Worthian pics, here is the list of the places where the portraits can be found (in alphabetical order)
