Ain’t it weird? I like to make new photos old, and make old photos new. 
By colorizing them. Colorization of old photographs is diligence work, tons of layers and trying. I love it. Almost meditative. 
Here are two works of mine. I have to thank the Worthian danger_mouse for all I know about colorization, she taught me.
I did it again. Photo aging! Remember I did it once already?
This time, I chose to go for a self portrait. It was the hardes thing I ever set up so far, and I owe tons of thanks to my great photo mentor Clive. He made me re-shoot it four times, so thanks for that, too. 
(No, seriously, I learned a lot doing this).
So, here I am as a pinup girl.
I looked through some old photoshop projects of mine and thought I’d share.
I really liked the B2B (Back to basics) contests at Worth1000, the ones where the task was to photoshop a given image. Here are some I did.

I turned it into this:
Industrial Sunset.
All ingredients for this picture can be found in my kitchen: A paper roll, tin cans (filled with green peas, tangerines and sweet corn), empty bottles, wild rice, kitchen herbs, cling film and cotton wool. A table cloth, nailed to the ceiling, as the sky.
I has maid furst lolpet. L00k. It’s a lolowl.
I took the pic for a “framed” contest at Worth1000, but then decided it was not good enough - but too cute to waste, so I made a lolpet outta it.
Did I already admit to being lolcat-addicted? I iz luvcat.
Sometimes, you are unreachable.
You don’t see my scars.

Came in second.
I recently was inspired (by Worth1000, of course) to turn new photos into old ones. As I really had fun doing this (and as it earned me a silver trophy *g*), I will share the artwork with you here.
First, I turned this picture here:
into this “old” photo:
It was quite a challenge, because the kids are wearing modern clothes, of course, and that seemed to be a change in style that might not work out. The worst were the soles of the shoes - modern running shoes. So I decided to go for scratches over the most obvious part, and for the coffee stain to distract attention from it.
I had so much fun doing it that I wanted to try a new approach. So I chose this photo:
And turned it into this one:

The touching thing about it is that, if the photo was this old, the Cologne skyline in it would be scarred by war. The whole area around the cathedral was turned into ashes. Strangely and thankfully, the cathedral itself remained unscathed.
I personally think that this second picture is far better than the first one. But the ways of the voters are wondrous - the first picture brought me a silver trophy, the second came in fourth. I am happy with both scores, though, and I had loads of fun making them. I’ll surely make some more “old photos”. 
I gotta thank Worth again for inspiring me to try something new.
