Quote of the moment: J.F.K.
“The problems of this world cannot possibly be solved by skeptics or cynics whose horizons are limited by the obvious realities. We need men who can dream of things that never were.”

15 years now since he went.
Freddie Mercury, one of the greatest singers of our time.
Few people even know how much I loved the man - and still do. I admire his music and all that he stood for.? He was one of the few people who really gave their whole existance into their performance.
And though there always have been bands and singers I heard more often, music I cherished more than that of Queen, there is no other singer whose death still brings tears to my eyes whenever I think of him or hear his songs on the radio. Man, I miss you. I so much wish you’d still be here, sharing your talent and music with us.
I’m just the pieces of the man I used to be
Too many bitter tears are raining down on me
I’m far away from home
And I’ve been facing this alone
For much too long
Oh, I feel like no-one ever told the truth to me
About growing up and what a struggle it would be
In my tangled state of mind
I’ve been looking back to find
Where I went wrongToo much love will kill you
If you can’t make up your mind
Torn between the lover
And the love you leave behind
You’re headed for disaster
‘Cos you never read the signs
Too much love will kill you - every timeI’m just the shadow of the man I used to be
And it seems like there’s no way out of this for me
I used to bring you sunshine
Now all I ever do is bring you down
Ooh, how would it be if you were standing in my shoes
Can’t you see that it’s impossible to choose
No there’s no making sense of it
Every way I go I’m bound to lose
Oh yes,Too much love will kill you
Just as sure as none at all
It’ll drain the power that’s in you
Make you plead and scream and crawl
And the pain will make you crazy
You’re the victim of your crime
Too much love will kill you - every timeYes, too much love will kill you
It’ll make your life a lie
Yes, too much love will kill you
And you won’t understand why
You’d give your life, you’d sell your soul
But here it comes again
Too much love will kill you
In the end
In the end

OK, you think I should post something else than Worthian stuff? Okay, I will, I promise I will…
just one last thing, tho.
Take a minute and watch this. I love it.
Did you ever sing in a band? Probably.
But I am sure no one of you ever was in a virtual band. I am.
We are BanHammer.
We have a Gnu on the banjo, and a monkey on the drums, and our lead singer does NOT eat poop. Aren’t we lucky?
And here is our first song, written by the incredible bevissimo: (more…)
Whew, time is flying.
I am having a performance tomorrow, a poetic evening titled “secrets”. I will tell stories and recite poems. Nothing big, just a cozy little thing to embrace the long autumn evenings. I’m curious to see how many people will show up. Really looking forward to it.
I’d put the poems in here, but they’re in German, there’s no point. Even if you try, there is no way achieving the beauty of a poem when it’s translated. Here is one in a rather decent translation:
Autumn
by R. M. Rilke
The leaves are falling as if from afar,
as if from distant gardens withering in heaven;
with gestures saying nay they fall.
And in the nights, lost out of all,
the heavy earth falls down - a lonely star.
We all are falling. Nor this hand there stands.
And see all others: bound to this calling.
And still, there’s Someone holding all this falling
with tenderness unending in his hands.
(transl. by A.W. Tüting)
It’s well done, but still … the original poem is so much more intense, so much deeper … anyway.
Wish me luck tomorrow evening. ![]()
I dunno if you know, but I am (proud to be) a member of this great artwork site, Worth1000.
It’s a competition site featuring photoshop, photography, text and multimedia, and it’s one of the greatest art communities on the net (imho). Love you alot, my artsy fambly! *beams*
Anyway, I mostly dabble in the Training Grounds, as I am well aware that I am not up to the level of artwork done for W1K. But recently, there has been a challenge I couldn’t resist. I just loved the idea so very much that I had to try.
And this was the challenge:
Take this kid’s drawing:
and turn it into a photorealistic scene.
I worked really heard on it, and for the first time, I was definitely passionate about a contest entry. This is what I came up with:
(Click the thumb for a larger view)?
I never thought I’d win anything, but guess what? I won the silver trophy! I am totally extatic about it, and so proud I gotta put it here in my BLog. *g*
OK, you can congratulate me now.
Oh, and you can view the whole contest here.
