I took the pic for a “framed” contest at Worth1000, but then decided it was not good enough – but too cute to waste, so I made a lolpet outta it.

I did not blog.

And I hereby apologize. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. As a reconsiliation, you get the latest family picture. The three of us at Christmas. Aren’t we sweet? Yeah, the li’ll one makes faces, he always does that for the camera. *rolleyes*

So what happened? Well, I took another job. Or the job took me. It was more or less a coincidence. I went out with a friend, and while we were chatting over a beer, she mentioned how desperately they look for people in their office. People to do customer liaison and support. I was big-mouthed as ever and said “Nothing I couldn’t do”. And she said: “OK, see you on Monday”. (It was on a Saturday).

Since then, I’m there. It started as three times a week for 2 hours, now it’s daily from 8 to noon. And I gotta say I like it.

The drawback is – I already had a job. You might recall I was working for a private English school, giving lessons to children, a job I thoroughly enjoy and love. Right now, I am working double: Office in the mornings, school in the afternoon, preparing lessons and doing the conceptual planning for the school.

It’s just too much. Joshua is not taking it easily, he’s throwing tantrums at least five times a day. And I am exhausting myself. I gotta decide. Deadline I set myself is March.

So this is the news. I promise I’ll try to update more often again, but time is sparse these days, really. I just barely find time for producing art, and art is as important as breathing for me.

So I’ll hang in there, and you guys will, too, until I’ve got more time for you again, ok?

In The Know: Candidates Compete For Vital Idgit Vote

As all three of them call for a rather longish answer, I will answer all of them in a separate entry (and each will be a day of its own). The first one is day eight, and it’s a really tough one for me.
Question #1 by V1c: Do you believe in the fundamental basis of mathematics or was it something concocted to keep men busy and feeling superior as they play with little made-up numbers? Is it just another way to provide fake proof to theories that continue the subjugation of people or is there some real basis to it? Is it a pure science, from God, a divine entity, natural, or another creation of man?

This is a tough one because I used to hate math when I was in school. But even then, when I was honest with myself, I admit that I rather hated it because it was a family tradition to hate it. None of us ever had been good at math. It was unheard of. So I decided at a very young age to hate math, not considering for a while if I really did. There were moments during school when I became, against my own will, fascinated. I remember when we did calculus of probabilities in school, and I was loving it. I couldn’t get enough of it, it was just so… beautiful. I really did my best to hide it from everyone.

Anyway, I digress. Back to the question. It is like the question of the hen and the egg, and I feel horribly inapt to answer it, as my refusal of the subject made me blissfully ignorant in many areas of it. But, as at that time when we did calculus of probability, there were moments… when I ventured into philosophical and social studies at the university, we touched math once in a while. And there were moments, when we discussed the Golden Mean, for example, when I thought I glimpsed something. When I thought I understood why some people claimed that math was the basis of the universe, of life and all the rest.

I never came close enough in knowledge to really have the right to answer. But I can understand why some people fall for math as if it were a religion. Actually, quite some religions do use math for themselves, and they probably know why.

Well. There could be many possible answers, some of them even easy. Maggie could just have come kind of deep-routed Peter-Pan-Syndrome, not wanting to grow up. She could be stuck in a time warp, or she could just be the illogical offspring of a TV series starring yellow cartoon characters.

But no. I do not think the solution is that easy.

I believe Maggie has secret superpowers. She is a hidden superhero of some sorts, and she uses the baby-thing as a disguise only. She knows she is destined to save the world one day, but the enemy is looking for her, knowing she is already born and thriving, and she needs to keep a low profile until the day of her final battle.

Hah, I know what you’re thinking now. “You fudge the story”, you are thinking. But no. I have evidence. Indications.

At age one, Maggie could spell EMCSQU (E=MC²) with her toy building blocks! She’s able to answer complicated questions putting cubes together and solve complex IQ problems. She has also played Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker on her toy xylophone. And so on and so forth. She is honing her superpower skills for the time when she will need them. “Maggie’s is shown saving Homer’s life on numerous occasions, and at the same time demonstrating inhuman strength for her age”, Wikipedia claims. You can read the article here. So now you know why Maggie does not age. She is a true superhero, and one day, she’ll save us all.

“What are you wearing right now?”

Okay, it is probably too simple. But I don’t want to spoil the fun, so I’ll answer it. And I’ll give you some extra information, too.

Right now, I’m wearing olive-green cargo pants, meadow-green long sleeved top with rather low cleavage (yes, I mostly prefer low cleavage. A girl gotta know her advantages), orange scarf, green-and-orange knitted socks (my mum knits them for everybody, and I hate cold feet). Black lace undies (always wear black). I removed my boots when I came in, but they were brown, knee-high, high heeled leather boots. No stiletto heels, though, just high.

And the plus info about it: I am adamant, I am anal about combining colors. It has to match down to every little accessory. I’d rather die then wearing, let’s say, a blue hair-band with this combination. I used an orange-dark-and-light-green-yellow one to make my “ready-for-school” ponytail (I was teaching today). I had green earrings. I even had matching eyeshadow. I cannot stand people wearing white tennis socks. Even less if they wear them with sandals. I shiver when people combine colors wrong. Seriously yuck.

And I like to disguise. No, not only for our reenactment fairs, but also in real life. I like to try out who I can be. Austere and intellectual? Hot and sexy? Sweet and outgoing? I like to express myself with the colors and styles I wear.
