Who am I?
Well, yes… if I only knew.
I am the Enchantress, the Lady Min, the Phoenix. I made some good choices in my life, and some terrible mistakes. I bear my scars with pride. I lost loved ones, but I never lost love.
I am a storyteller, teacher, journalist and writer. I am stubborn and passionate both in love and complacency. I write, I paint, I sing and try to experience and express the world and myself in every possible meaning. I love to push my limits, and to outgrow myself again and again.
I love books, perspicacity, good literature and poetry, unerring cynicism, drawing & digital arts (photoshop), photography, the genitive, RPGs and medieval reenactment, languages and grammar, music (listening to and singing), words and much more.
I despise stupidity. I really do! If you’re stupid, please stay clear (problem with stupid people is, though, that they actually never realise they’re stupid … oh well). And I hate chumming up, intolerance, lack of humour and bad spelling and grammar.
I read almost everything from medieval literature to the back of cornflakes boxes. Among my faourites are Goethe’s Faust. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. Rilke’s Poems (The Hour Book). Wolfram von Eschenbach’s Parcival. All kinds of medieval literature you never heard of. All kinds of German classical literature you probably heard of in school, but would never recognize by the spelling. ![]()
Oh, and fantasy: George R.R. Martin, Guy Gavriel Kay, Lynn Flewelling, Tad Williams, Neil Gaiman, Carol Berg, Jaqueline Carey, Eoin Colfer, Tom Robbins.
All kinds of fairytales, myths, legends.
Books are more real than life to me.
I listen to more kinds of music than you might be able to figure. Too much to list here. From medieval music, classical, rock&pop, metal, independent, indian bollywood stuff, folk, punk … you name it. Music is, sometimes, the only thing that can yet reach me.
I watch movies, when I feel like it. But not on TV, really. I watch Desperate Housewives an The L Word, and I admit having a weak spot for all kinds of casting shows (Idol being the least best of them all, btw). But I could gladly live without TV at all. TV is dumb and makes you stupid, believe me. OK, having seen and recorded every Star Trek episode that was ever broadcasted when I was younger did not really make ME stupid, but perhaps my intellect is just more resistant than others’. ![]()
As for movies: All kinds. Among the faves are Pulp Fiction, Saun of the Dead, Fight Club, The Colour Purple, Blade, The Chorus, The Big Lebowski, Much Ado About Nothing, The Lord of the Rings, Snatch, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Crank, Fried Green Tomatoes, Room with a View, and so on …

Oh, thanks for linking to my blog!
I just bookmarked this one, so I’m on to you min.
I adore you, you know.
Und das andere Problem ist, dass du von denjenigen, die wenigstens klug genug sind, zu realisieren, dass sie dumm sind, nie etwas erfahren wirst … es sein denn, sie sind dumm-dreist und hinterlassen hier doch etwas!
;o)
Feel bookmarked
Min, While I agree that TV used to be awful and make you stupid, it’s getting so much better! You are missing out my Lady!
Dexter
Pushing Daisies
Battlestar Galactica
Sarah Connor Chronicles
Eureka
